What might you palpate for on the legs in a DVT exam?
- Temperature
- Tenderness
- Pitting oedema
- Calf diameters
- Pulses
How would you measure calf circumference in a DVT exam?
10 cm below tibial tuberosity
What difference in calf circumference would be regarded as significant on DVT exam?

How would you complete a DVT examination?
- Full CVS exam

- Bloods - FBC, U+E’s, coag screen - starting anticoag

- Compression ultrasound - > 2 por +ve D-dimer
What test might you do if Wells score was > 2 or D-dimer was +ve?
Compression USS
