Idiolect
The Lumad tribal groupings of Mindanao include Ata, Bagobo, Guiangga, Mamanwa, Magguangan, Mandaya, Banwa-on, Bukidnon, Dulangan, Kalagan, Kulaman, Manobo, Subanon, Tagabili, Takakaolo, Talandig, and Tiruray or Teduray.
Ethnolect
- refers to discrimination based on a person’s dialect or way of speaking.
- a type of linguicism discrimination based on dialect.
DIALECT PREJUDICE
- It is defined as the way a speaker used language differently in diffirent circumstances.
- It is determined by factors such as social occasion, context, purpose and audience.
Register
- pertains to the specialized language of a professional or occupational group.
- This language is often meaningless to outsiders.
Jargon
It is created by humans and can be different from place to place. It creates a human environment with shared meanings within a society through values, beliefs, norms, etc. and is a learned behavior.
Culture
The cultural and intercultural communication group looks into how culture and social norms affect people’s communication in domains such as scientific communication, organizational process, computer-mediated communication and technology adoption.
