Variables and Their Measurement and Lab 1 Flashcards
What’s the difference b/e a bar graph/chart and a histogram?
A Bar Graph or Bar Chart displays the data about the exterior condition of each housing attribute.
A Grouped Frequency Distribution or Histogram summarizes and displays surveyed houses’ “Overall exterior housing qualities as a percentage above or below normal”.
What is A Data Distribution?
When data are assembled and put together in a list or a graphical display.
In our case, what is the difference between “normal” PHQ and PHQ within the “normal range”?
Normal = 0% on the button
Normal Range = -10% to 10%
Our favourite (dependent) variable is the summary measure of a house’s _________.
“Overall exterior housing quality as a percentage above or below normal”.
What are central tendencies? Provide examples.
A central or typical value for a probability distribution (e.g., mean, median, mode).
