Validity And Reliabiltiy Flashcards
1
Q
What is validity?
A
-It is the accuracy or whether the test sets out what is supposed to measure
2
Q
What is reliability?
A
-It is how consistent a test can be repeated producing the same results with the same group of participants at some point in the future.
3
Q
How can we test validity?
A
- Concurrent validity: this involves comparing the results to a benchmark test results and if they are the same they are valid
- Predictive validity: This is comparing future outcomes with the test results predicted and if they match the findings and test is valid
- Face validity: this measure of validity identifies whether the test actually sets out to measure what is supposed to measure.

Q
What ways can we test reliability?
A
- Inter observer reliability
- Test re test reliability
- Split half reliability
