What do compressors do in general?
A
It smooths out all the dynamics of a song - boosts quiet parts and compresses loud parts to even it out.

Describe the following
Gain Reduction
Threshold
Ratio
A
Grain Reduction - how much it is compressing the loud portions
Threshold - the volume where the compressor starts taking effect
Ratio - the amount of compression applied to the signal. (For example, a ratio of 2:1 indicates that a signal exceeding the threshold by 2 dB will be attenuated down by 1 dB)

When do you use a Glue Compressor
A
Usually used on bus or grouped tracks - It is used to make multiple types of sound blend together well
