A

A policy that covers anyone (within reason) to drive a vehicle with the policyholder’s permission without them being named on the policy. There is criteria and conditions that apply though.

A

When a young person buys a car and insures it in an older person’s name, usually their parent to get a cheaper insurance.

What happens if we find out a policy is fronted and the customer is trying to make a claim?

A

We may refuse to pay the customer’s claim.

1/ The young driver calls for a quote in their parent’s name
2/ The young driver pays for parent’s insurance using their own card
3/ The young driver refers to the car as ‘my car’ or says ‘I bought the car last week’
4/ You may hear a hesitation when you ask who the registered owner and keeper of the car is
5/ Zero no claims discount
6/ The parent may have access to more than one car
7/ The value of the car may be low
8/ The car may be a small or a basic model that does not suit the parent’s occupation
