One way the USA has political influence over other countries is by holding large conferences.
This means it shows other countries that the USA is more powerful and by doing this the USA is able to take charge and persuade other counties to follow their preferred course of action. Evidence of this is when Joe Biden brought together 40 world leaders to discuss how to tackle climate change. (March 2021)
One way the USA has political influence on other countries is that they can attempt to end conflict.
This means that the USA has strong relationships with other countries which then allows their comments to have an impact. Evidence of this is that a ceasefire began in Gaza just a fortnight after Biden saying “I think we need a pause” on 1 Nov 2023

One way the USA has a military influence on other countries is a member of NATO. This means that the USA, as part of NATO, play a key role in supporting other members in conflict and providing them with economic and military support. Evidence of this is the USA is the joint leading founder of NATO providing 16% of its budget.
One way that the USA has military influence is by having a strong navy. This means that the US is internationally recognised as being a strong military power as they have one of the largest naval fleets in the world with some of the most the most advanced technological hardware. Evidence of this is that on October 1, 2023, the US Navy’s fleet numbered 290 battle force ships.

One way the USA has economic influence on other countries is by trade exports. Evidence of this is that Scotland’s exports to the USA were valued at £6 billion in 2019 (by Scot Gov). This means the USA is vital to Scotland’s economy.
One way the USA has economic influence on other countries is their large businesses that create jobs globally. Evidence of this is that Amazon employs 1.3 million people globally. This means that the USA can support other countries’ economies through the success of their own businesses’ international employment.
