Describe the impact the GI Bill of Rights had on the veterans of World War II.
Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944 provided for college or vocational education for returning World War II veterans as well as one-year of unemployment compensation. It also provided loans for returning veterans to buy homes and start businesses.
What did it mean when Winston Churchill said, “an iron curtain has descended across the continent?”
Europe had descended into darkness and things were about to turn bad. It did. Bombings happened and no one knew what the other was going to do, like a “iron curtain” was covering them.
