A

Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944 provided for college or vocational education for returning World War II veterans as well as one-year of unemployment compensation. It also provided loans for returning veterans to buy homes and start businesses.

A

Europe had descended into darkness and things were about to turn bad. It did. Bombings happened and no one knew what the other was going to do, like a “iron curtain” was covering them.
