grades of pelvic prolapse
A
0- no prolapse with straining
1 - distal portion of prolapse >1cm above level of hymen
2 - distal portion 1cm below level of hymen
4 - complete eversion along the entire length of genital tract
procidentia - failure of genital supports and complete protrusion of uterus through the vagina.

uterine prolapse - clinical features
A
- groin/back pain: stretching uterosacral ligs
- Ulceration/bleeding
- feeling of heaviness/pressure in the pelvis - worse: standing, lifting, straining, end of day. Relieved: lying down.
+/- urinary incontinence

UTerine prolapse - treatment
A
conservative - kegel, pv ring pessaries, topical oestrogen creams
surgical - vaginal hysterectomy + surg prevention of vault prolapse; additional procedures if incontinence, cystocele, rectocele (ant colporraphy)
