The poor live in small multi story apartments with no air conditioning.
They usually work as taxi drivers, factory workers, leather or show workers.
If people do not work they do no receive benefits and are unable to eat.
The huge cost of grain in Kolkata reflects the poor in the city.

This means knocking down old houses/ flats and building new places for people to live.
