Screw The Lawyer, Save A Patient Thoracroacromial a. Lateral thoracic a. Subscapular a. Anterior circumflex humeral a. Posterior circumflex humeral a.
Volkmann’s ischaemic contracture
Brachial a. injury ischaemia/necrosis of forearm muscles; flexion deformity at elbow and wrist. with forearm pronation, thumn and digital flexion
Superficial lymph drainage
To Lateral Node from medial hand, forearm and arm
To Apical Node from lateral hand, forearm and arm
Deep drainage lymph drainage
Initially to lateral then central and apical nodes
Phalen’s test/Tinel’s test
CTS test; Forced flexion of wrist & pushing dorsum of both hands to pinch Median n. further, +ve sign=burning, tingling, numbing of digits 1, 2, and 1/2 of digit 4.
Allen Test
Ulnar a. damage; Squeeze both sides of anterior forearm with thumbs, release ulnar; nl=red hand, pale hand=beware
Depuytren’s contracture
thickening and contracture of palmar aponeurosis
DR. CUMA
Dropped wrist = Radial n. injury
Claw hand = Ulnar n. injury
Median n. = Ape hand
Superficial arch (hand blood supply)
Mostly Ulnar a.
Deep arch (hand blood supply)
Mostly Radial a.
Scapular Anastomosis
Suprascapular a., circumflex scapular a., branch of transverse cervical a.
Superficial cut on the thumb would follow the cephalic vein. Where does lymph from cephalic v. path empty into?
Cephalic vein bypasses the lateral nodes and empties directly into the apical nodes.
Where does lymph from a superficial cut on the medial side of the hand would follow the basilic vein empty into?
lateral nodes—and then drain into the central and apical nodes.
