How does an upper GI bleed present?
A
Haematemesis, coffee ground vomit, malaena, abdominal pain, dizziness, fatigue, paleness, SOB

What are some causes of an upper GI bleed?
A
Peptic ulcer, oesophageal varices, oesophagitis, Mallory-weiss tear

What are the investigations for an upper GI bleed?
A
FBC (Hb, platelet), U+E (raised urea), clotting, group and save, LFTs
Endoscopy once stable and if required

What is the management of upper GI bleed?
A
Stabilise patient, give IV fluids if needed, IV terlipressin if variceal bleed
Endoscopy once stable
