Caused by staph aureus after a viral prodrome. Seen in toddlers like croup, but it more indolent

On vignette it will be croup that does not improve

Treat bacterial tracheitis with
IV antibiotics
Sick as **. Rapid onset, high spiking fever. Tripod breathing, drooling, using accessory muscles. Hot potato voice (muffled voice)
