1. Started in Boston and moved extensively in to Central America and the Caribbean exporting oranges bananas etc.
2. largely backed by government, encouraged banana sales by publishing a recipe book that served banana with cereal, also health institutions claimed it would help with celiac disease.
3. though they built infrastructure and clinics they controlled a disproporiantate amount of fertile lands, leading to more inequity and more violence.
