1. Leader of the people, gained followers by appealing to the proletariat, though he used his position to gain power by aligning with corporations.
2. suceeded in office by the charm of his wife Eva Peron.
3. After ousted and exile, returned to office because of the support of many Peronists who kept a movement alive. But he died shortly after returning.
Eva Perón
Argentina, Wife of Juan Perón/actress
1919-1952, Age 33.
1. largely responsible for Perón gaining power because of her charm and charisma.
2. Humanitarian, devoted to social issues though her legacy is controversial because of her ties to the Peron who aligned with corporations and unfillfiled many promises.
3. Secured vote for woman.

1. Terror like war especially in the context of the cold war that was triggered by Peron’s return to office.
2. 15k-20k vicitims and 100k or more exiled.
3. those who rebelled were first persecuted and then later pardoned.

1. Conservative Dictator = terror state
2. used propaganda, conformity dress and language behaviour to control.
3. ousted and was the inspiration for Sarmiento domingo to write his famous Facundo which dew attention to the barbarism that he practiced.

1778-1850, Age 72.
1. Fought for several liberal rights along the same lines as Morales.
2. Free Slave children, end torture and free press.
2. Argentina mostly but played instrumental roles in both Perú and Chile.

Argentina, Caudillo and Liberator 1764- 1850, Age 86 1. One of 1st Caudillos 2. advocated federalism and autonomy 3. criticized for blood thirst, self aggrandizing but seen as a national hero.

2. would limit church powers which proved to be problematic
