What is the cerebral cortex and what does it do?
The centre of conscious thought and it recalls memories and alters behaviour in light of experience
What are the three localisations of areas of the cerebral cortex?
Sensory areas
Motor areas
Association areas
What do association areas involve?
involves language processing, personality, imagination and intelligence.
How is information processed?
Information from one side of the body is processed in the opposite side of the cerebrum.
How does the left central hemisphere work?
The left central hemisphere deals with information from the right visual field and controls the right side of the body and vice versa.
How does the transfer of information between the cerebral hemispheres occur?
Through the corpus callosum
