What is a perpetual resource?
A resource that does not need to be replenished in any way. Example: wind or solar resources.
What is a renewable resource?
A resource that can be replenished fairly quickly if properly maintained. Example: trees or soils.
What is a non-renewable resource?
A resource that cannot or takes an extremely long time to replenish itself. Example: fossil fuels or most metals.
What are the two themes of negative impact?
- Over population
2. Over consumptions of natural resources
What is our ecological footprint?
Demand for resources and waste accumulated.
What is our environmental footprint?
Demand for aquatic resources, build up land, crops, and waist.
What is ecological overdraft?
When our demand is greater than our supply
What is sustainable development?
Meet the needs of the present without ruining the future.
What are the 3 pillars?
- economically
- environmentally
- socially
All must be equal to obtain sustainable development.
