What are the Indians doing?
stealing and killing in the USA
Why was Andrew Jackson sent to Florida?
He wasn’t supposed to go in to Florida but he did and killed some Indians
Does Jackson get fired? Why?
No, he becomes a hero because he took care of the Indians and helped us get Florida
What did the Transcontinental Treaty say?
We will buy Florida for 5 million dollars
what countries form a Quadruple Alliance?
France, Russia, Prussia, Austria
what is the purpose of the Quadruple Alliance?
to stop democracy throughout the world
what does the United States do about the Quadruple Alliance when lots of innocent people get killed?

explain the Monroe Doctrine
You stay on your side of the world and we stay on ours
what are the pros and cons of the Monroe Doctrine?
it prevents war but bad people could also come into absolute power
why does England keep secrets about the textile industry?
to keep making lots of money
what does Samuel Slater do?
memorizes plans about textiles and comes to the US to build factories therefore breaking English law
explain the pros and cons of the Industrial Revolution
more cheaper production and more jobs but also pollution, low wages, and poor safety conditions

what is long stapled cotton?
easy to clean but hard to grow
what is short stapled cotton?
hard to clean but easy to grow
who fixed the cotton problems and how?
Eli Whitney overheard two people talking about how much they wished for a machine to clean short stapled cotton so he decided to invent one called the cotton gin
what does the cotton gin do?
clean cotton 50x faster than one person
how does the cotton gin affect people’s attitudes?
people in the south wanted more land and slaves

each section of the country has a different idea on what they want
