Requirement management process
Step 1: Gather requirements from stakeholders
• Internal, external, clients and users, legal and regulatory
• Interviews, workshops, surveys, focus groups, modelling and simulation
Step 2: Analyse the requirements
• Look for gaps, overlaps, conflicts and do not contradict any other
requirements
• Make sure each is unique, concise, verifiable (can be tested) and traceable
Step 3: Justify the requirements
• Each one must be structured and prioritised (MoSCoW) based on their value
in terms of their benefit and value to the project
• Balanced against the constraints of the available budget
Step 4: Baseline the requirements
• Must be agreed and signed off before solution development can begin
