Why do companies need culture?
its kind of their personality. it is a system of shared values, beliefes. it has a strong influence on employee behavior and org. performance.
it helps individuals understand which behaviors are and are not appropriate.

since changing the culture in a way that leads to better outcome in some service gives a better repsonse in the service than changing the servies itself

• What is the influence of company founders on company culture?
companies in their early years are tied to the personality, background and values of its founders! These values are often sustained since they are in some way linked with the competitive advantage of the company.
• What are the methods companies use to aid with employee onboarding?
Organizational culture determines what types of people are hired by an organization
and what types of people are left out. Moreover, once new employees are hired, the company assimilates new

employees and teaches them the way things are done in the organization.
Are there any conditions under which culture change is not possible?
sometimes there is a mismatch between org. values and its environments demands. then the culture must be changed.

Levels of organizational culture
Assumptions, values, artifacts
assumptions are beyond our awareness. they are taken for granted and reflect human beliefs.
values are shared principles, standsards and goals.
artfacts are policies and other “rules” that support values.
e.g. happy employees is assupmtion. Value is high quality relationships and fun
artifact is open door policy and pool table office space.
