A / An / The:

A

– these are all articles.
They are all types of determiners and are used before a noun.

– A /An: are used when it is implied that the information is unknown to the speaker / listener / writer / reader. (indefinite article)
E.g.: “Do you have a bike?” “No, I have an electric scooter.”

– The: is used before a noun when the information is already known to the speaker / listener/ reader / writer.
E.g.: “We spent all day at the park.” (it is implied that the speaker and listener know which park is being referred to).”

Reflexive pronouns – they always end in “self” or “selves”

A

– they refer to the subject forms of personal pronouns.
E.g.: “We let ourselves down.” – “I am pleased with myself.”
– “They can keep it to themselves.”

Determiners – these are words which are used before a noun – here is a list of the types of determiners:

A

Articles: A, An, The.
Demonstratives: This, That, These, Those.
Possessives: My, your, His, Her, Our, Its, Their.
Quantifiers: Many, Some, (a) Few, Much, (a) lot etc
Numbers: One, Two, Three etc.
