flock
a group of birds of the same type
That flock of birds are migrating to warmer places to escape from the winter cold.
herd
a group of animals of the same type that live and feed together
A herd of zebras are gathered near the trees away from their predators.
pack
a group of animals that hunt together or are kept for hunting
She dreamed of being surrounded by a pack of wild wolves and woke with a startle.
pod
a small group of sea animals, such as dolphins or whales, swimming together
A pod of whales were spotted off Back Beach earlier this week and those quick enough were able to catch a glimpse of them.
pride
a group of lions
That pride of lions are resting by the rocks. Quickly snap a picture of them!
school
a large number of fish or other sea animals swimming together
The water was so clear that a school of fish could be seen swimming in it peacefully.
swarm
a large group of insects, especially bees, moving together in the same direction
I was chased by a swarm of bees because I accidentally disturbed their hive.
troop
a group of people or animals of a particular kind such as monkeys
