The British are in Canada and the U.S. wanted that land.

He offered Great Britain a deal that if they agreed to cease your attacks on American ships, they would stop trading with your enemy. When Britain agreed they lied and kept seizing the U.S. ships. So Madison began to think about abandoning George w.’s policy of isolationism and going to war with GB

19
Q

Foreign policy of President James Madison:

A

neutrality but assertion

20
Q

what do you believe the forgiven policy should’ve been like?

essential ? paragraph

A

In the 1800s I believe the foreign policy the U.S. should’ve followed would be getting involved and not isolationism. James madison’s idea to go to Britain and France and propose a deal of if they agreed the U.S wouldn’t trade with their enemy in return for not ceasing the U.S. ships anymore. This matters because it was a smart idea and he was addressing a major problem of ships being seized by Britain and France. In conclusion the best foreign policy to follow is to stick up for yourself and get involved if there’s a problem that needs to be addressed.
