They were a way to produce goods faster. The mass production of goods led to the prices decreasing.

It’s an economy based on supply and demand with little government regulation.

They were man-made rivers that led to the price of goods decreasing.
What happened to women during this time period?
They started working outside the home, mainly in textile mills.
How did steamboats and railroads affect the U.S?
It resulted in faster, more efficient transportation of goods. It also led to a decrease in the price of goods.
What was the telegraph?
It was an invention made by Samuel Morse used to communicate rapidly over long distances.
