What was consent of the governed?
The belief that Britain should have colonists’ permission to pass taxes. Also the main reason for the American Revolution.
What was the proclamation of 1763?
The law that prohibited colonists from moving west of the Appalachian Mountains.
What were the Intolerable Acts?
It was Britain’s response to the Boston Tea Party. Led to the first Continental Congress.
What was the Declaration of Independence?
It was a list of grievances against KG3, written by Thomas Jefferson, that stated they had the right to create a new government.
What are unalienable rights?
They are rights all people have from birth : life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Why was the battle of Saratoga important?
It was the turning point of the war, when France sent support to America.
Why was the battle of Yorktown important?
It was the last major battle of the war. The British signed the Treaty of Paris and the U.S was now independent.
