Soviet sends the first unmanned satellite to space. Raises the fear that soviet will be able to attack with a nuclear weapon easily.

Nixons and krushcevs televised debate about women. Being a housewife is advertised. Note being one = communism
1962 Cuban Missile Crisis
US discovered soviets were planting nuclear missiles in cuba. Us naval blockade cuba until cuba removes the nuclear missiles.
1965 Operation rolling Thunder
LBJ believed that if they just bombed vietcong then they would go back into the “cold age”. But guerilla soldiers were mostly underground and unharmed.. harmed US soldiers as well
1968 Tet offensive??
