Ablative of Separation
After verbs of freeing, separating, or depriving, an ablative of separation may occur, with or without a preposition (ab or ex) Dominus populum *(ā) malō* līberat. 'The Lord frees His people *from evil*.' [līberō, līberāre, līberavī, līberātus 'free']
