Unit 4 : Upper limb Flashcards
Metacarpal 1 articulates with
Trapezium
Metacarpal 2 articulates with
Trapezoid
Metacarpal 3 articulates with
Capitate
Metacarpal 4&5 articulate with
Hamate
Distal radius articulates with
Scaphoid which then articulates with trapezium, trapezoid and capitate
Lunate articulates with
Triquetrum & capitate
Pisiform articulates with
Triquetrum
the head of the radius articulates with
Capitulum on the lateral surface of the humerus
Small part of head enters radial fossa during flexion of elbow
Radial collateral (elbow) ligament goes from
Lateral epicondyle of humerus to annular ligament and proximal end of supinator crest of ulna
Palmar radiocarpal ligament goes from
Distal radius to the anterior surface of scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum
Dorsal radiocarpal ligament goes from
Distal radius to posterior surface of scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum
Ulnar collateral (wrist) ligament goes from
Ulnar style of process to medial surface of triquetrum
Radial collateral (wrist) ligament of wrist goes from
Radial styloid process to lateral surface of scaphoid
