Sutures & Foramens Flashcards
Lambdoid suture
Arches across posterior surface of the skull
Separates parietal from occipital
Sagittal Suture
begins at superior midline of lambdoid suture and extends anteriorly between the parietal bones to the coronal suture
Coronal Suture
crosses the superior surface of the skull separating the anterior frontal bone from the parietal.
Squamous Suture
boundaries between temporal bone and parietal
Frontonasal Suture
boundary between superior aspect of two nasal bones and the frontal bone
What’s the calvaria
Also called cranial vault formed by occipital parietal and frontal bones
