Arteries Vs Veins: Arteries carry oxygenated blood whereas veins carry deoxygenated blood. This means that arteries carry blood away from the heart and veins carry blood back to the heart. Arteries are stronger and stretchier which allows them to carry more blood than veins.

Gas Exchange: The exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the heart and bodily cells. The oxygen is picked up by red blood cells (rbc) in the lungs.
