Individual freedoms
the ability to act freely as a person. Some freedoms include freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and the right to petition.
Ratify(Ratification)
to make official or approve a treaty by voting or signing.
Anti-Federalists
those who go against ratification of the constitution; and wanted to add Bill of Right to protect the right of citizens
Federalist
people who support a strong federal government and advocated the ratification of the new constitution.
Bill of Rights
first ten amendment of the US constitution contain individual right like freedom of speech, religion, press, and petition.
Federalist papers
essay written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison. and John Jay to push the ratification of the Constitution.
Amendment
to change a meaning or words of law or document.
Due process of Law
All the procedures for fair treatement even though the citizen is accused of a crime and that is present in the 5th Amendment.
Jury
a group of citizens chosen to hear evidence and make a decision.
Petition
a formal request to someone in power, written and signed by a group of people
Unconstitutional
not allowed in the constitution
