Detects breast cancer
Detects breast disease
What diseases/disorder is an ECG used for?
Patterns among heartbeats and rhythms to diagnose many diseases
What are the risks and function of an MRI
Function
MRI creates magnetism in human body then stimulates the body with radio waves then stops the radio waves and registers the body’s electromagnetic transmission
Risks
None
What is the function and risks of an X-Ray
Function
The machine produces a beam of electrons onto a metal plate and the beam travels until it comes in contact with our bodies tissue and the hard elements in our body absorb energy rays so we see them lighter
Risks
Radiation exposure (leads to cancer)
Contrast medium causes minor side effects
What is the function and risks of a PET scan
Function
Injects a radio pharmaceutical made up of a radioactive isotope usually glucose into body then it concentrates on certain areas of the body and is detected by the scanner
Risks
The tracer can cause major allergic reaction and expose your unborn baby to radiation
What is the function and risks of an ultrasound
Function
The device uses high frequency sound waves to create an image of some part of the inside of the body
Risks
There are no known risks
What is the function and risks of a Mammogram?
Function The breast is placed between two plastic plates then the plates are pressed together to flatten the breast then takes images Risks Expose you to low dose radiation Can get false results
