What are biofuels?
A
Fuels which can be made from organic material in the process of fermentation (bacterial anaerobic respiration)

What can biofuels be used to produce?
A
Electricity and/or to power machines eg cars

Where are biofuels useful?
A
In developing countries where alternative fuels and means of generating electricty are scarce

What is the equation for ethanol?
A
Glucose → CO2 + ethanol

How is methane produced?
A
Feces from cows conatin methane-producing bacteria, meaning in anaerobic conditions these bacteria work at their optimum rate fermenting the complex carbohydrate cellulose which produces methane

What is effluent?
A
The resedue material, it is very rich in nutrients thanks to the bacteria
