a migrant who has been forced to leave their location for similar reasons as a refugee, but they don’t have to cross their country’s border
asylum seeker
an international migrant hoping to be recognized as a refugee
floodplain
an area subject to flooding during a specific number of years
desertification
the deterioration of land to desertlike conditions typically caused by human actions

immigrants who illegally enter another country without the proper documents
