overpopulation
when the number of people in a region exceeds the capacity of the environment to support a decent standard of living
census

total number of objects in an area (specifically the total number of people divided by the total amount of land)
physiological density
the number of people supported by a unit of arable land (farmable land)
agricultural density
the ratio of the number of farmers compared to the amount of arable land
crude birth rate (CBR)
total number of births per year per 1000 people in a society
crude death rate (CDR)
total number of deaths per year per 1000 people in a society
demographic transition
process that has developed over history. went from high CBR and and CDR and low RNI to low CBR and CDR and high RNI (and now moderate RNI) resulting in a higher population.

the number of years needed to double a population
life expectancy
the average number of years an individual can be expected to live, given current conditions in a particular place (social, economic, medical)
Industrial Revolution
major improvements of manufacturing goods and delivering them (stable food supply and economy). resulted in more wealth to make health advancements.
medical revolution
the major health advancements and newly invented technologies that diffused into developing countries, making the world an overall, healthier place.
