What is ankylosing spondylitis?
Inflammation of the joints between the vertebrae (a form of rheumatoid arthritis).
What is arthroscopy?
Visual examination of the internal structure of the joint.
What is chondroma?
Slow-growing benign tumor derived from cartilage cells.
What is chondromalacia?
Abnormal softening of cartilage.
What is osteochondroma?
Benign bony projection covered with cartilage.
What is costochondritis?
Inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the sternum.
What is craniostenosis?
Malformation of the skull due to premature closure of the cranial sutures.
What is arthrodesis?
Surgical fusion of two bones to stiffen a joint.
What is kyphosis?
Abnormal increase in outward curvature of the thoracic spine.
What is lordosis?
Abnormal increase in the forward curvature of the lumbar spine.

Surgical loosening of an ankylosed joint.

Cancer that occurs in blood-making cells found in red bone marrow.

Inflammation of the periosteum.

Abnormal lateral (sideways) curvature of the spine.

Forward slipping movement of a lower lumbar vertebrae or sacrum.
What is spondylosis?
Degenerative disorder that can cause loss of normal spinal structure and function.
What is synovectomy?
Surgical removal of a synovial membrane from a joint.
What is the acetabulum?
Large circular cavity in each side of pelvis (hip joint).
