Hygiene
Which cares are included in AM cares?
Bathroom, changing of incontinent products, oral hygiene, washing hands and face, peri care, dressing, shaving, hair care, tidying up the room.
Which cares are included in PM cares?
Bathroom, washing hands and face, peri case, oral hygiene, helping with bedtime attire, and back rubs.
Cares that are done prior to bedtime
HS cares (Hour of Sleep)
What are cares are included in HS cares?
Changing of incontinent products and elimination needs
Inhalation of food, fluid, vomit, or objects into the lungs
Aspiration
Which parts of the body are cleaned with a partial bath?
Face, hands, axillae, folds and creases, and perineum.
A partial thickness wound caused by scraping away or rubbing of skin
Abrasion
A break in the skin or mucous membrane
Wound
An accident or violent act that injures the skin, mucous membranes, or organs
Trauma
The death of tissue
Gangrene
A break or rip in the outer layers of skin
Skin tear
If a resident has a weak side, which side should be dressed first? Which side should clothing be removed from first?
Dress the weak side first and remove from the strong side first.
How long should back rubs last?
Three-five minutes
