10 National Employment Standards
It outlines the minimum standard of working conditions with all Australians. These entitlements include; Maximum Weekly hours of 38 Hours, Parental leave of 12 months and paid Annual leave of 4 weeks.
Awards
An Award are legal document that outline the minimum pay rates and condition of employment. There are 122 industry and occupation awards.
Agreement
An Angreement sets out minimum employment conditions and can apply to one business, a group of businesses or an individual employee.
On a business level the base rate of pay in the agreement cannot be less than the pay rate in the award
Employment Contract
Agreements between employeer and employee that sets out the terms and conditions of employment. A contract can be verbal or in writing. It cannot provide less than the legal minimum set out in the NES
Codes of Practises in a businesses
Respect - Expected to treat other staff with respect and to also be courteous when dealing with others
Integerity- The staff and trainers should be honest in relation to, the usage of any from of social media that may compromise the business and financial records
Supply Chain (Define)
They encompass the planning and management of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement, storage of materials and development of partnerships with suppliers of customers.
Supply Chain (What does it cover?)
It covers the entire flow of materials from suppliers, through the workplace (Offices, factories) to the end customer.
Making a Good relationship (Setting Debts on time)
A business that pays accounts on time becomes a valued customer- may lead to prefential treatment.
Making a Good relationship (Allow Lead time for Order)
A supplier who is given ample waiting of an order is more likely to deliver on time and provide a high quality product.
Making a Good relationship (Maintain Communication)
Regular contact with suppliers offer faster positive relationships.
Consideration when Choosing Suppliers (Price)
To remain profitable businesses must keep costs low. Not only will the price of raw materials offered by the supplier is a consideration but the deciding factor on price is a big one.
Consideration when Choosing Suppliers (Quality)
Businesses need to source quality inputs from its suppliers. Businesses should also ensure that the goods its purchases from international suppliers are in compliance with Australian Quality standards.
Consideration when Choosing Suppliers (Reliability)
Businesses that have a fast turnover of stock often rely on quick and timely delivery from their suppliers. With out stock, it may loose sales or a reputation
Consideration when Choosing Suppliers (Proximity)
Shorter distances from suppliers means less travel which can reduce the cost of transporting goods. It also makes the business more environmentally friendly.
Consideration when Choosing Suppliers (CSR)
It is the duty of a business to take reasonable care when selecting a supplier to ensure that its own business is not tainted by poor practises.
