It compares height to weight, BMI = weight % height m2
What is calorie consumption?
Energy intake = energy expenditure = weight stays the same
What are 2 effects of obesity?
Bad CV fitness/stamina and no flexibility
What are 2 reasons why a balanced diet is important?
Unused energy is stored as fat leading to obesity, the body needs nutrients for energy, growth and hydration

60% - preferred choice of energy for all types of exercise

Growth and repairing muscles

Maintains bowel movement
Define dehydration?
Excessive loss of body water interrupting the function of the body

Loss of concentration and reduced blood flow meaning less oxygen to working muscles

Identify strengths and weaknesses in a performance, measure success of training programme, monitor improvement, motivation + setting goals

Not sport specific, questionable reliability, inaccurate data, doing it with the correct procedure
