3
Q

Describe the process of electrolysis. (4)

A
  • Liquid is used to conduct electricity
  • Electrolytes are metal salt solutions(from ore)/molten metal oxides
  • Electrolyte has free ions which conduct electricity
  • Electrons are taken away by the (+ve) anode and given away by the (-ve) cathode
