What is geography?
geography is the study of Earth’s human and physical systems and their relationship
physical geography
physical geography is geography that has to do with the natural environment, like features and processes that occur at the earth’s surface. ( landforms, rock types, water bodies, plants, weather)
human geography
geography that deals with human activity and environmental impact. (popukation, resource extraction, agriculture)
GDP
gross domestic product is how many goods and services are produced by a country in a year. A high GDP means an economy that can afford basic necessities. Low GDP means some of the economy cant afford basic needs
Where does Canada rank in terms of fresh water?
canada ranks 3rd in terms of fresh water, however we’ll be affected by a shortage if we aren’t careful by how much we use
What is a map?
a map is a flat view of the Earth’s features using colours and symbols to locate water bodies and countries.
What is a map projection?
map projection is the globe transferred to a flat surface
Mercator projection
mercator projection is suited for navigation charts as it gives true compass bearing between points. However this distorts the size of countries near the equator by appearing smaller and countries near the polls appear bigger
