Beliefs and patterns of behavior that are shared by a group of people and passed from generation to generation
Media
Forms of communication that provide news and entertainment
Technology
Detects diseases earlier, or illnesses quicker, improving life for people
Healthcare
Services from doctors, nurse practitioners, dentists, therapists, and the places they work, like hospitals and clinics

Decisions you make and the actions you take
Risk Factor
An action or condition that increases the likelihood of injury, disease or negative outcome
Three ways to evaluate risk factors
Consider both short-long term consequences. Decide whether you can control the the risk factors. Analyze the possible benefits and risks of a decisions
Gaining Awareness
You have to first recognize a health problem before you can actually do anything about it. Some health problems are obvious to us while others are not.
Gaining Knowledge
Learn as much about the problem as you can, Learn about the causes, warning signs, symptoms, outcomes, and how it can be treated.
Building Health Skills
Knowledge isn’t useful if you don’t have the skills to apply it. There are skills you need to master
