* verbal and non-verbal communication

* ethnicity

* disability
* gender
Cultural humility
the ability to approach and interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds with an open and humble mindset.
It involves:
* recognising your own limitations
* being willing to learn from others
* respecting the experiences and perspectives of people from different cultures
Cultural competency
The capacity to interact with individuals and communities effectively and respectfully from various cultural backgrounds.
It includes having the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to communicate and work with people from diverse cultures in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner.
Cultural safety
The creation of an environment where individuals feel safe, respected, and free to express their cultural identities without discrimination or harm.
It involves ensuring that all people, regardless of their cultural background, are treated with dignity and without bias.
Diversity
Understanding that each individual is unique and recognising individual differences.
These may be related to:
* family structure
* values
* ethnicity
* religion
* gender
* ability and learning needs
* socio-economic status
In this context includes Pasifika, whanaungatanga, and manaakitanga concepts
Intersectionality
The cumulative way in which the effects of multiple forms of discrimination (such as racism, sexism, and classism) combine, overlap, or intersect, especially in the experiences of marginalised individuals or groups
