In normal operations, what items of the checklist need to be verbalized?
Them check rear call-out items and the Before TO checklist are to be verbalized.
What should trainees verbalized prior to configuration changes?
The appropriate IAS limitation.
What are the go-around criteria for trainees?
1) Instructed to by ATC/QFI
2) Not satisfied with the approach
3) IAS stabilized below threshold speed on base/finals
4) Greater than 45 AoB required on base
5) Not aligned with runway by 350’ AGL by day/ 400’ AGL by night
6) Runway not clear or clearance not received by 200’ AGL
7) Finals checks not complete or approach path too steep/shallow by 200’ AGL
8) Dangerous balloon or bounce or expected to touch down with less than 4000’ runway remaining.
9) S turn required to capture final (S turn means going outside runway edges)
10) Traffic confliction exists or when the landing sequence has been given cannot identify or lose sight of preceding traffic.
Can the QFI direct the trainee to continue if it is safe to do so and will expedite the sortie objectives?

Prior to the first solo at Pearce, what must trainees be proficient at ?
1) Meet LMP requirements
2) Be assessed as safe solo to conduct Pearce lane operations
3) Pass area solo quiz
Following a dual flight assessing safe solo, how long must solo sortie be conducted within? Can this be waived?
Pre-IRT = 48 hours
Post IRT = 96 hours
Can be waived based on individual circumstances.
What sequences can solo trainees carry out?
1) Those on LMP
2) Approved safe solo
3) Sequence has been briefed and authorized
What MUST solo trainees do before coming airborne?
1) Establish contact with VIPER Ops prior to taxi
2) If unable to make contact at first try, trainees may taxi to the ORP and make contact again.
3) If no contact established, they are to taxi to lines
4) Maintain a listening watch of VIPER OPS frequency .
Where can DS be contacted (time permitting) in an emergency?
Viper Ops
When may DS require a DI to be in the tower for solo ops?
When the ATIS has Expect Instrument Approach conditions.
What restrictions are there on Departure for solo trainees?
1) No max angle climb take offs
2) No max angle climbs until above 3000 ft AGL
3) No practice EFATO
How are solo trainees to rejoin the circuit?
1) Standard initial and pitch
2) High key for a PFL provided no more than 3 A/C are in the circuit
3) An instrument approach final if require due weather or in the curriculum
How far down runway must solo trainees exit the runway on a full stop landing?
1) 4000 ft for a normal/land flap approach
2) 5500 ft for a flapless approach
What is considered 4000 ft from the thresholds of runways 18L and 36R?
