1
Q

If they give you a few values and say find the uncertainty between this (normally a few means)

A

Uncertainty = range/2

Q
A

Typically add all uncertainties together if dividing multiply etc

Percentage uncertainty = standard uncertainty / total measurement x 100

Q

Resolutions of vernier calliper and micrometers

What is resolution again

A

Resolution is the smallest distance something can measure

So for a fuller smallest is 1mm
Vernier is a tenth so 0.1
Micrometer is hundredth so 0.01 mm

Q

What is a systematic error vs human error

A

Systematic error I an error probably happening due to a mis measurment so it’s happening each time and you can fix it

Human error is something you can never fix, only way to get better answer is to repeat numerous times, this is like reaction time etc resolution uncerisnty

Q

What to do if there is a constant with uncertainties

A

Here you just multiply or divide constant by it

So if diameter

Q

How to reduce uncertainties unngerneral.

A

In General

1) easureniver a larger distance so get smaller value
2) use better resolution which gives smaller value too

Q

What’s diffferenc. Esteem measurment and reading

A

Measurment is when you measure front two sides, as a result uncertainty is there at both ends so actual absolute uncertainty is divide by 2

For readings it’s on value so it’s the smallest division
