Q

Primary objectives

A

-Management of maintenance
-Management of concession
-Reporting,recording and management of defects
-provide a consolidated hierarchy of ship fitted equipment and associated configuration information
-interface to mimic CBM systems to allow reporting of defects and capture running hrs,start/stop
-interface with MJDI to allow users to interrogate requisition form and place demands upon ships stores.
-simplify administration of standard naval engineering reports
I.e; WRF , S2022 , S2012
-enable design authorities to review the effectiveness of RCM schedules & make change where necessary.

Q

What is concession ?

A

It’s when UMMS task cannot be carried out

So when you have activity driven task which can only be done during a certain period like forced roll trials which are bi-monthly would need a concession if we are elsewhere

15
Q

What’s used for STOROB

A

It’s used when the ship needs a part sooner than the manufacturer is able to deliver.

So this would consist of taking stores from another ship, that does have it or do not require that stores for there operation capability

16
Q

What is Charlie code stores ( c code)

A

This is a part of an FTSP stores package

You would place all stores required on a spread sheet for shore side to hold your stores at dockside till called forward

17
Q

What are the key elements to plan a repair?

A

-ships evolutions/programme
-timescale to complete job
-safety -tag out , obstacles
-any lifting required
-manpower required
-tools
-stores
-fluids
-any testing required when re-commissioning

18
Q

What is DE&S and what do they do

A

Defence Equipment and Support
Are in charge or procurement of new equipment and replacement of old equipment, also sources contracts for stores for that equipment

When a matdem is put in DE&S source the stores and have them delivered

19
Q

MSSP

A

Merine systems support partner
Is a part of DE&S and is seperated into desks .gives assistance to ships personnel with engineering issues ,is also where the SIC signals on an opdef are sent .

20
Q

Who organises contractors coming onboard

A

COM organises all contractors coming on board

21
Q

Who organises OEM’s coming onboard

A

MSSP Organise OEM attendance COM can sometimes aswell

22
Q

What is CAL

A

CAL is the carry onboard allowance
Is maintained by on ships stores using MJDI

23
Q

How do you assign a CAL for a stores item

A

You fill out a s130 for that item and if it is accepted ships stores will hold how ever much of that item specified in the s130 and if used will replenish when back shoreside

24
Q

What does MJDI stand for

A

Management of joint deployed inventory

25
Q

What does JDTS stand for

A

Joint demand tracking system

26
Q

what is a MATdem

A

A demand for stores for a opdef

27
Q

Can a matdem be put in without an opdef

A

No,matdems are specific to opdefs

28
Q

What kind of info is on an matdem

A

The name of the person placing the matdem, contact details
The date matdem was put in and the date for delivery
The nsn for the part, equipment serial number manufacturers number and 40 million number
The perent equipment(like the opdef)
The lack of item affect (effect on operational capability like line 5)
SIC’s like the opdef
Needs to be signed by the HOD or DHOD

29
Q

How do you place a matdem

A

You write or print out the sheet with the relevent info on it and hand it into ships stores they will send out a separate signal to the opdef signal for the matdem
