- Distraction, e.g. keeping yourself busy to take your mind off the issue.
- Emotional disclosure, involves expressing strong emotions by talking or writing about negative events
- Praying for guidance and strength.
- Meditation, e.g. mindfulness.

- Drinking alcohol, using drugs.
