when arrears have reached the value of 2 months of rent - 3 party deduction may also apply

continuing short payment where the arrears have built up to one months rent value

CL was receiving HB direct to LL and requests payments continue to be made to LL under UC arrangements providing they continue to meet Tier 1 or Tier 2 factors

if the tier 1 or Tier 2 factors apply then MPTL can be considered without rent arrears

MPTL can be considered where CL has long term problems paying their rent

dont need any further info other than what’s on the UC 47 form this is available on the UC gov website together with all the details about how to fill this in and return by email or post - LL must have details that relate the CL to the UC claim eg name address nino or date of birth

once UC gets the UC 47 then the UC agent makes decision and informs the CL and LL if required

if payment to LL is to be refused and the LL requested it then they wont tell the LL that the CL is getting UC and wont tell the reason for refusal

if MPTL accepted then a monthly payment will be issued to LL for a period deemed appropriate by the UC agent after which it would be hoped the CL could get payments back after personal budgeting support if needed

twice monthly - CL still waits till end of assessment period and gets half UC payment 7 days after the end of the assessment period

in exceptional circs 4 times monthly same applies then payment every 7/8 days - if this person has housing costs then the UC agent would have to consider MPTL as well
