What should you keep a log of?
The conditions of their vehicle for each flight
The duration of each flight or how many hours of flying per day performed
The weather conditions during each flight or day of flying
The approximate number of charging cycles for batteries
Any batteries that show markedly decreased performance should not be used
The location and general flight plan
Any permissions from landowners or ATC
When should you examine vehicles?
Before and after each use.
What should you inspect on the vehicle?
Batteries
Propellers
Controller and mobile device (fully charged)
Shell
Landing gear
Camera/Sensor gimbal
What should you avoid with LIPO batteries?
Do not recharge, use or store a damaged or bulging LiPo battery
Do not purchase used batteries
Use an approved charger for your sUAS and battery
Some sUAS brands use packs of LiPo batteries to provide power
Chargers for a particular brand of battery are designed to deliver power
reliably
Do your best to charge/discharge your batteries in a place that is fire
safe and or attended by you or someone else
Should you buy a used battery?
NOOPE!
How many days should you store your fully charged LIPO batteries
no more than 2-3 days
What kind of extinquisher do you need for LiPo batteries fires
Class D extinquisher
How many charges can a battery have under the best scenario?
300 cycles
