What is a declarative sentence?
A sentence that gives information about something
What is an interrogative sentence?
A sentence that asks a question and requires an answer
What is an exclamatory sentence?
A sentence that expresses strong emotion, ends with an exclamation mark
What is an imperative sentence?
Giving a command or request
Ends with a full stop or exclamation mark
What is a simple sentence?
It has one independent clause
What is a compound sentence?
Consists of two independent clauses joined together with an appropriate coordinating conjunction
What is a complex sentence?
Has one dependent clause joined to an independent clause
What is a compound complex sentence?
Has two independent clauses joined to one or more dependent clauses
What must every sentence have?
A subject and a predicate
